College: Things I've Learned

professors like questions of this type:
"i don't understand what you said. could you say the exact same thing over and over, wording it slightly differently each time, until i understand or we all get bored and give up?"

professors do not like questions of this type:
"I understand what you're trying to say, but you said it wrong. this is what you actually meant, right?"
